The settlement of Aghia Paraskevi is a tourist resort extended around the homonymous sandy beach, at the southern coast of the island, well protected from the strong northern winds.

The settlement is situated at a distance of some 8,5 kilometers southwestern to the town of Skiathos and half kilometer southern to Platanias. It owes its name to the homonymous small country church, hidden in the shade of huge perennial plane trees and tall aspens, which grow just by the sea.

On the 26th of July the locals celebrate the name day of Aghia Paraskevi with a local religious feast (“panighyri”). If you are around, don’t miss it!
